Role Description:
* Lead the cost management process for major residential developments across the UK, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and cost control throughout project lifecycles.
* Prepare detailed cost plans, tender documentation, and procurement strategies, providing commercial guidance to clients and project teams.
* Oversee post-contract management including valuations, change control, and final accounts.
* Support acquisition and feasibility stages with development appraisals, value engineering, and benchmarking analysis.
* Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring consistent quality and technical excellence.
* Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to deliver commercially viable outcomes and maintain programme certainty.
* Drive quality assurance and risk management processes, ensuring compliance with professional standards and internal frameworks.
* Present financial and progress reports to clients, directors, and senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost consultancy, ideally within the UK residential or mixed-use development sectors.
* Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, and post-contract administration.
* MRICS qualification (or working towards) strongly preferred; equivalent professional background considered.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of market cost drivers.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
* High level of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail in cost reporting and forecasting.
* Professional, proactive, and client-focused approach with a passion for delivering best-in-class cost management solutions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
* Must have UK consultancy experience..
