We are seeking an experienced Strategic Housing Officer to join our Place Services – Housing Services team. This is a high-impact role, leading on the development and delivery of strategic housing initiatives to maximise affordable housing and sustainable development opportunities within the borough.
You will work closely with senior officers, elected members, developers, Registered Providers, and other stakeholders to deliver housing strategy, major housing sites, and secure investment for housing projects that meet community needs.
Location: St Helens
Salary: £21.25 per hour (umbrella)
Contract Type: 3 months ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development, implementation, and review of the Council’s Housing Strategy and delivery plans.
* Drive affordable and market housing delivery through planning, partnership, and project management.
* Build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, and communities.
* Secure funding and deliver housing projects to meet strategic objectives.
* Represent the Council at regional and sub-regional housing forums.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience in housing strategy, policy development, and delivery.
* Strong project and partnership management skills.
* Knowledge of housing markets, planning, and affordable housing delivery.
