This high-impact role reports to the Head of FP&A and is integral to providing accurate, meaningful financial insights that drive operational performance and business growth. Acting as a key business partner, the Management Accountant will take full ownership of month-end processes and play a crucial role in analysis, reporting, and decision support.
Duties will include:
1. Leading the month-end close, including preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
2. Managing key balance sheet items such as deferred income and contract-related accruals
3. Supporting revenue recognition and analysis across multiple payer types
4. Producing performance reports including KPIs related to utilisation and productivity
5. Delivering financial insight and variance analysis to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
6. Acting as a finance partner to operational teams, providing guidance and challenge
7. Conducting cost and margin analysis by service line, identifying areas for efficiency
8. Reviewing and monitoring payroll costs, including agency usage and related accruals
9. Managing weekly cashflow forecasts, highlighting variances and working capital shifts
10. Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes with operational input
11. Assisting with fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure tracking
12. Preparing audit documentation and supporting compliance activities
13. Maintaining finance procedures and documentation in line with control requirements
14. Contributing to continuous process improvement and finance systems development
15. Supporting ad-hoc projects and analysis as required by the Head of FP&A
About the Successful Applicant
You will be a Newly Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), with at least three years’ experience in a hands-on accounting role. A confident communicator with strong Excel skills, you’ll be comfortable interrogating data and turning numbers into actionable insight. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar systems is a plus, as is a background in healthcare or other operationally complex sectors
