Elvet Recruitment has been appointed to recruit for a Cost & Bonus Surveyor to join a well established housing developer, covering their sites across the Tyne & Wear and surrounding areas.
This role plays a critical part in the financial and operational performance of our construction sites, with a specific focus on labour cost tracking, bonus scheme administration, and subcontractor payments and could be suited to an existing Cost & Bonus Surveyor, or equally, a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant QS looking to learn a new position.
Key Responsibilities

Compile and maintain bonus targets for Bricklayers, Joiners, and Painters, including adjustments due to changes in build processes or specifications.

Evaluate claims submitted against bonus targets, including the assessment of daywork claims from Labour-Only Subcontractor Bricklayers and Joiners, and certify payments accordingly.

Assess daywork claims from Direct Labour Joiners and Painters, and calculate bonus payments to be included in weekly wages.
*
Record and monitor weekly build costs based on site production data.
*
Report weekly site labour hours and bonus payments for payroll processing.
*
Review subcontractor payment applications and issue payment certifications in line with project progress and contractual terms.
Qualifications and Experience:
*
Background in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or similar construction-related discipline.
*
Strong understanding of labour-only subcontracting and bonus schemes.
*
Proficiency in construction cost tracking and reporting.
*
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
*
Experience in the residential housing sector is preferred.
