The Opportunity:As a Residential & Commercial Property Solicitor, you will head up the property team in St Albans while working alongside colleagues across multiple offices. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the department’s structure, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality legal services across residential and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Residential & Commercial Property Solicitor team in St Albans
* Handle a caseload of residential and commercial transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgaging, land acquisition, and disposal
* Oversee junior solicitors, conveyancers, and support staff, providing supervision and guidance
* Drive business development efforts, networking with clients, agents, and referrers to grow the practice
* Ensure compliance with CQS, Lexcel, lender panel, and Land Registry requirements
* Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy, staffing, finance, training, and systems improvements
* Promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and client-focused service
The Ideal Candidate:To succeed as a Residential & Commercial Property Solicitor, you will bring:
* 10+ years PQE in residential and commercial property law
* A proven track record of handling complex transactions and leading teams
* Strong working knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A strategic, proactive mindset with a focus on team development and growth
