Interim Strategic Property Surveyor
Based in London, hybrid working
Length: 3 months initially
IR35 status: Inside
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Strategic Property Surveyor to join the Corporate Property Team. Reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Council’s Corporate Property Strategy, leading major projects, and providing expert property advice across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead corporate property projects and support major Council programmes
2. Deliver a comprehensive asset review of all Council properties and develop asset plans
3. Monitor asset performance and report against KPIs
4. Manage a range of property transactions arising from the asset review programme
5. Develop and implement Corporate Property Strategies to enhance portfolio performance
6. Contribute property input to wider Council initiatives such as regeneration, public health, and housing
7. Manage and oversee external property consultants when required
8. Prepare reports and briefings for Members, Committees, Cabinet, and Full Council
9. Project manage staff and ensure successful delivery of work programmes
10. Work collaboratively across directorates to meet organisational property needs
Skills, experience and knowledge required:
11. Strong experience preparing and presenting high-level reports and strategies
12. Excellent project management and negotiation skills, with experience working with senior stakeholders
13. Solid knowledge of Landlord and Tenant law and estates management
14. Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS or FRICS)
15. Experience delivering asset review programmes and leading major projects, ideally in local government
