We are now looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our clients Metabolomics Platform within Product Safety — a brilliant opportunity to be part of a team pushing scientific boundaries and contributing to the development of active ingredients.
What you’ll be doing
In this unique role, you’ll blend hands-on analytical work in a cutting-edge laboratory with the scientific administration of studies using outsourced data. You’ll work closely with colleagues across R&D and external partners, ensuring smooth, high-quality metabolomics data generation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Independently analysing biological samples by LC-MS after training in core assays
Taking ownership of your data quality and collaborating with bioinformaticians to keep studies moving efficiently
Supporting general lab activities including reagent prep, sample management, and accurate recording
Coordinating outsourced metabolomics studies and liaising across internal teams
Managing relationships with partner contract labs to ensure timely, high-quality data
Collating documentation and maintaining study management templates
Building deeper expertise in metabolomics to eventually provide technical advice and QA reviewWhat you’ll bring
Degree-level education in a relevant scientific discipline
Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry, including LC-MS
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively
Great attention to detail and solid time-management
A collaborative, positive team mindset — with the confidence to work independently when needed
