Job Description
Content, website, PR, and go-to-market for a mission-led neurotechnology company
Remote-first UK role, with one day per week near Tetbury
Huru is building brain-monitoring technology for a future where brain-health data is easier to collect, understand, and use. Our Clic EEG platform is a miniaturised, self-applied wearable, designed to make long-duration brain monitoring possible beyond traditional hospital-based pathways.
We are already selling research devices internationally and are preparing for the next stage of our journey, scaling up the research business and launching our medical device in the US. We are now looking for a Marketing & Communications Lead to help us tell our story clearly, professionalise our external presence, and build the commercial foundations that will support Huru as we grow.
This is not a conventional sales role. In the near term, the role will be centred on content creation, website overhaul, PR agency management, go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, conference preparation, and customer communications. Over time, as our website, PR, conference activity, and inbound deal flow mature, the role will naturally evolve into more direct commercial ownership.
What you’ll be doing
You will work closely with the founders and external partners to make Huru’s science, product, and mission clear to the people who matter: researchers, clinicians, partners, publications, early customers, and future commercial buyers.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Content creation: Develop clear, credible content that explains Clic EEG, Huru’s mission, our research-device offering, and the future clinical potential of Clic EEG.
* Website overhaul: Lead Huru’s website redevelopment from our side, working with external agencies to improve structure, messaging, copy, visuals, user journeys, and launch readiness.
* PR agency management: Act as the main day-to-day contact for our PR agency, helping them identify stories, prepare materials, gather founder input, access technical context, and target the right publications.
* Go-to-market strategy: Help define priority audiences, messages, channels, conferences, publications, partnerships, and campaigns across research, clinical, and medtech markets.
* Sales enablement: Create and maintain product explainers, one-pagers, FAQs, case-study inputs, conference materials, email templates, and customer-facing resources.
* Inbound interest and follow-up: Help shape how we respond to enquiries from researchers, clinicians, partners, and potential customers, making sure people receive clear, thoughtful, and timely communication.
* Customer experience: Support onboarding, aftersales communication, customer feedback, and practical improvements to the experience of working with Huru.
* Commercial foundations: Bring structure to our messaging, content library, CRM, lead sources, website analytics, and campaign follow-up so we are ready for future growth.
Because Huru is still a small company, this role will be broad. Some days you may be writing website copy. Other days you may be briefing a PR agency, preparing conference materials, improving the CRM, helping respond to a customer, drafting a case study, reviewing agency work, or turning founder knowledge into something the outside world can understand. We need someone who is adaptable, proactive, and willing to roll their sleeves up rather than waiting for a narrow job description.
What we’re looking for
You are likely to be a marketing, communications, content, PR, or growth professional who enjoys working with complex products and early-stage companies. You do not need to be a medical device expert from day one, but you should be curious about health technology, comfortable learning technical material, and able to communicate carefully in evidence-led environments.
You should bring:
* 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, communications, content, PR, growth marketing, or a closely related role.
* Strong writing skills, with the ability to turn technical or scientific ideas into clear, engaging, credible content.
* Experience creating or managing content such as website copy, product explainers, brochures, case studies, email campaigns, social content, press materials, or sales collateral.
* Experience working with external agencies, freelancers, designers, developers, PR teams, or creative partners.
* Confidence managing a website project or contributing meaningfully to a website redesign.
* A practical understanding of how marketing supports commercial growth, including inbound enquiries, conference follow-up, customer journeys, and sales enablement.
* The organisational discipline to manage multiple workstreams in a small, fast-moving team.
* Willingness to travel to Huru’s HQ area near Tetbury around once per week.
It would be a bonus if you have experience in any of the following:
* Medical devices, healthtech, life sciences, scientific equipment, diagnostics, neurotechnology, clinical research, or another technical B2B sector.
* Marketing for products that require careful, evidence-led communication.
* PR agency coordination, thought leadership, media briefing, or publication planning.
* CRM, email marketing, website analytics, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
* US healthcare, research, hospital, or medtech markets.
What kind of person will thrive here
This role will suit someone who likes building, not just maintaining. Huru is growing, and many of the systems this person will own are still being created. You will need to be comfortable moving between strategy and execution: shaping the message, then writing the copy; briefing the agency, then checking the details; discussing go-to-market priorities, then updating the CRM or preparing the follow-up email.
You will thrive here if you are:
* A clear communicator who can make complex technical ideas accessible without oversimplifying them.
* A practical builder who likes turning messy founder knowledge into useful assets, processes, and campaigns.
* Adaptable and happy to pick up whatever needs doing as the company grows.
* Commercially aware without needing to be a traditional salesperson.
* Organised enough to manage agencies, deadlines, content, customer follow-up, and competing priorities.
* Mission-led and motivated by the opportunity to improve access to objective brain-health monitoring.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and able to create structure where it does not yet exist.
Why join Huru
Huru is a small, mission-driven neurotechnology company working on an important problem: making objective brain-health monitoring more accessible. You will join at a stage where your work can directly shape how the company is understood by customers, partners, clinicians, researchers, media, and future investors.
This is a chance to build the marketing and communications foundation of a company with international research-device sales, a strong technical product, and a meaningful clinical mission. You will have real ownership, direct access to the founders, and the opportunity to grow the role as Huru moves from early commercial foundations into broader market launch activity.
Package
Expected package: competitive salary, performance-related bonus or commission, and EMI share options. Exact package will depend on experience and the balance between salary and equity.
