Family Hubs are part of Kent County Councils offer to support children and young people aged 019 (up to 25 with SEND) and their families.
Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services, including midwifery, health visiting, parenting support, and activities for children and young people. We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, working alongside partners to support local communities.
We are looking for a Business Support Assistant to be based at Sittingbourne Library, colocated with the Swale Family Hubs. The role will support Family Hub provision across the Swale District, with an expectation that the postholder can travel and work flexibly across the district to provide cover at other Family Hub locations where required.
This role involves supporting a range of busy Family Hubs by greeting, welcoming and signposting families and professionals. It is a key role in providing professional and effective support to Family Hub Workers who work with children, young people and families across the district.
We are looking for someone with a calm and organised approach who would like to make a positive contribution to the service.
Location: Sittingbourne Library Colocated with Swale Family Hubs
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Working Pattern:
1. Wednesday: 08:30 16:30
2. Thursday: 08:30 11:30
3. Friday: 08:30 16:00
Key Responsibilities:
4. Acting confidently as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, families and partners
5. Greeting and welcoming families and signposting them appropriately
6. Supporting the opening and closing of hubs as required
7. Providing administrative support to Family Hub staff and the wider service
8. Handling enquiries via telephone, email and in person
9. Supporting Health & Safety processes, including reporting and monitoring building faults
10. Managing sensitive information, checking and recording data accurately
11. Liaising with colleagues and partners to arrange meetings
12. Working effectively in a multiagency environment, responding to urgent requests and deadlines
13. Travel and work flexibly across the district to provide cover at other Family Hub locations where required.

15. A calm, organised and professional approach to work
16. Experience of dealing with customers or service users
17. A flexible attitude to working across a geographical area
18. Administrative experience with the ability to manage a varied workload
19. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
