GIS Analyst (Contract)
Location: Wokingham, UK (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Contract Length: 6 months
Rate: Market rate

The Role
We are looking for a skilled GIS Analyst to support geospatial data analysis and mapping activities for a large organisation operating within a complex technical environment. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and maintenance of geographic information systems and spatial databases to support business and project decision-making.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver accurate, high-quality geospatial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect, manage, analyse, and visualise spatial data using GIS tools and technologies
* Create, update, and maintain maps, layers, and spatial databases
* Perform spatial analysis and generate reports to support operational and strategic decisions
* Develop and maintain geospatial data standards and best practices
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver GIS solutions
* Integrate GIS data with other systems and data sources as required
Essential Skills & Experience
* 3+ years’ experience in GIS analysis and cartography
* Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online
* Solid understanding of GIS principles, coordinate systems, and spatial data types (vector and raster)
* Experience with geodatabases (File GDB, Enterprise GDB)
* Knowledge of spatial data formats such as Shapefile, GeoJSON, and KML
* Proven ability in geospatial analysis, data editing, and data conversion
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
* 4–6 years of overall GIS experience
* Experience with Python scripting for geoprocessing (ArcPy)
* Exposure to integrating GIS with enterprise or business data platforms
