We are seeking two part-time receptionists/administrative assistants to join our established and friendly administrative team.
Both posts are for 20 hours with the hours of work for the first post being 10am 2pm ideally Monday to Friday and the second post Tuesday Friday with hours negotiable between 8am and 4pm but with a Friday 6pm finish. The practice is open 7.30am 6pm Monday to Friday so flexibility for both posts to work during these hours is essential.
These posts will include a variety of roles including receptionist duties, dealing with patient and professional enquiries over the phone and various administrative duties such as dealing with mail, prescription requests and results. Care navigation in medical practices is now well established in guiding patients to the right healthcare service and the successful candidate will be required to advise patients of the most appropriate care for their needs.
The successful candidate must have a caring, approachable and friendly manner and be able to remain calm under pressure. The applicant must be IT literate, have the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately, both face to face and over the telephone and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Willingness to adapt to change at short notice is essential.
Previous experience of working with the public is essential and general practice experience is desirable. Training will be given for the right candidate.
We are also advertising for a phlebotomists role and would consider candidates who are interested in undertaking both roles. We currently have two phlebotomists who undertake both phlebotomy and reception / administrative duties.
