The Role
We are looking for a driven and ambitious Sales Engineer to help us grow our client base and take our specialist services to more operators and businesses across the energy sector. This is a technically informed, client-facing role where you will identify new business opportunities, build long-term relationships, and become a trusted advisor to our clients.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who has the technical foundation to understand what we do and the people skills to communicate it effectively. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you need to have the intellectual curiosity, the drive, and the commitment to grow into a genuine technical expert as you develop in the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across the oil & gas and energy sectors, both onshore and internationally
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, operators, procurement teams, and engineering contacts
* Develop a thorough understanding of Legasea's service portfolio — including subsea refurbishment, decommissioning, circular economy solutions, and spare parts supply — to articulate value clearly to clients
* Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and technical summaries tailored to client needs
* Work closely with the operations and engineering teams to ensure client expectations are understood and delivered
* Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to raise the Legasea profile
* Manage and grow a sales pipeline using CRM tools, maintaining accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions
* Provide market feedback to the leadership team on competitor activity, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* A genuine interest in technical engineering. You should be comfortable engaging with concepts relating to electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You build rapport naturally and can represent Legasea professionally at all levels
* A proactive, self-starting attitude. You're not waiting to be told what to do; you're out looking for the next opportunity
* Ambition to grow. You want a career, not just a job, and you're excited by the prospect of developing deep technical expertise over time
* A full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not compulsory):
* A degree or HND in mechanical, electrical, petroleum, or a related engineering discipline
* Exposure to or knowledge of subsea equipment, offshore operations, or the oil & gas supply chain
* Previous experience in a technical sales, business development, or client-facing engineering role
* Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office

This role suits a graduate engineer who is people-oriented and wants to apply their technical background in a commercial setting, or someone who has already worked in a sales environment in another sector and can demonstrate strong technical aptitude that is transferable to ours.
