Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Lead Engineer - Exteriors to be based at our customer location in Fen End, the UK.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role:
The Lead Engineer is responsible for leadership of the sub system engineers and is responsible for deliverables for all aspects of defined glasshouse component(s) / system(s).
Area of Responsibility
This position is responsible for establishing, planning and running the engineering sub system meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for:
1. Establishing the team work plan
2. Ensuring progress is made by following up actions with their owners.
3. Publishing minutes from each meeting
4. Ensuring that the engineering sub-system delivers its objectives and targets (technical and business)
5. Ensuring that programme timing objectives are met
6. Communicating team progress to management
7. Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/ component delivery
8. Ensuring vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level
9. Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off
10. Ensuring that issues that cannot be resolved are escalated to Module Leader
11. Identifying all risks to the programme.
Experience
Essential:
12. Proven project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
13. Engineering knowledge of defined glasshouse component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements,
14. Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
15. PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
16. Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
17. Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
18. Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
19. CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
20. Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5 would be an advantage.
21. Working knowledge of project delivery processes. PPAP Working
