Title: Casualty Claims Handler
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, dependent upon experience
Location: Manchester (Spinningfields HQ) – 5 days in-office during 6-month probation, reducing to 2 days in-office post-probation (hybrid)
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Your New Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, and Casualty claims. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fair and timely resolution of claims while providing exceptional service to our clients broker partners and insured customers.
Our client is a specialist challenger insurer operating across the UK. They provide Property, Liability, and Fleet insurance to large and medium-sized businesses and the public sector — exclusively through brokers.

Key Responsibilities:
· Manage a caseload of EL/PL and Casualty claims from notification to resolution.
· Investigate and assess liability, causation, and quantum across a variety of claims.
· Liaise with policyholders, brokers, solicitors, and other stakeholders in the claims process.
· Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and SLA timelines.
· Identify and mitigate potential fraudulent or exaggerated claims.
· Accurately record and report claims information using internal systems.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the claims team.
· Represent Protector Insurance in client meetings or case reviews where appropriate.
Your Skills & Experience:
· Have solid experience in Commercial Claims Handling, particularly across Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, and Casualty.
· Demonstrate ambition and commitment to pursue professional development, including CII qualifications.
· Possess excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
· Are organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
