One of our local, well-established companies based in Hull, is looking for Project Managers of varying abilities with a background in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. This company is highly respected in the local area and has a proven track record of creating a supportive environment for all employees.
Our client, a specialist supplier of bespoke HVAC equipment, has a highly skilled, quality-trained workforce that utilizes stainless steel 316L high-class welding assembly and Siemens PCL control electrical and electronic interfacing to produce equipment of the highest standard.
They specialize in the design and manufacture of high-integrity heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment for offshore oil and gas, nuclear, marine, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, process, and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Report to Contracts Manager
2. Follow standard processes as defined by company guidelines
3. Initiate projects, assess feasibility, and plan budgets, teams, and resources
4. Plan projects according to client needs, including setting goals, defining roles, and creating schedules and timelines
5. Select, lead, and motivate project teams from internal and external stakeholders
6. Manage projects, coordinate teams, and ensure projects stay on track and within budget
7. Monitor and control project progress
8. Identify and manage risks to ensure timely delivery
9. Implement necessary changes throughout the project
10. Report regularly to management and clients
11. Close projects by evaluating successes and challenges to improve future projects
12. Lead teams to meet tight deadlines, often working under pressure
13. Maintain a professional dress code and working environment, with sector-specific variations
14. Primarily office-based, with travel to visit clients and attend meetings
15. Recognize that project management offers growth opportunities
Skills:
Candidates should have:
1. Excellent organizational skills to optimize resource use and meet deadlines
2. Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead teams
3. Ability to monitor and control budgets
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage expectations
5. Initiative and decision-making skills under pressure
6. Proficiency in project management software, spreadsheets, and databases
7. Technical engineering knowledge
