We’re searching for a compassionate and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support a boy transitioning into Year 1 this September. This pupil is non-verbal, has a diagnosis of autism and sensory processing challenges, and can become physically dysregulated. You’ll be his anchor; helping him navigate the school day, build trust, and feel safe.

What the role involves:
* Providing 1:1 support tailored to sensory and emotional needs
* Using visual supports, routines, and calm-down strategies
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
* Supporting with personal care when needed
* Helping the pupil access learning at their own pace

* Has experience with autism, SEMH, or non-verbal children
* Stays calm under pressure and uses a trauma-informed approach
* Understands the importance of consistency, empathy, and structure
* Can be patient, playful, and proactive
* Wants to help a child feel seen, safe, and supported every day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
