Summary:
The Senior Family Engagement Officer serves as the primary face of the Childrens Center, acting as the first point of contact for families, professionals, and the local community. This role is dedicated to creating a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment from the moment a family enters the service. You will balance administrative excellence—such as diary management and reception oversight—with frontline family support, providing vital information and signposting families to health, financial, and childcare services.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the reception area to ensure a clean, professional, and welcoming atmosphere. Implement and communicate essential safety checks and center procedures to all visitors.
* Forge and maintain strong, empathetic relationships with parents, carers, and site users to foster community development and trust.
* Provide accurate advice on various matters, including childcare options, health services, and benefit entitlements. Act as a "knowledge hub" for local support services, signposting families to relevant providers.
* Systematically seek and collate feedback from center users, providing detailed reports to the Center Manager to help shape and improve service delivery.
* Maintain the centers master calendar and diary, ensuring all training sessions, meetings, and local events are accurately tracked and accessible to the wider team.
Essentials:
* Proven experience working in a reception, community center, or customer service role, preferably within a social care or educational setting.
* Experience providing "Information, Advice and Guidance" (IAG) to the public, particularly regarding local authority services or family support.
* Strong experience in office administration, including managing shared diaries, handling sensitive data, and producing reports.
