About the role
A new position has become available at Gwent Police, Health and Safety Department. We are looking for an individual to join our forward‑thinking and expanding team of professionals as we drive towards Gold standard service in the Force. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and willing to help us drive the Department forward.
Responsibilities
* Conduct 6 monthly inspections in collaboration with station inspectors, as directed by Health & Safety Manager.
* Coordinate these inspections and their findings as well as actions with senior staff members in the relevant areas.
* Support and advise the Station Managers/Inspectors in their role relating to H&S, including understanding building compliance reports and actions (Fire, Asbestos, Legionella, Electrical, Manual Handling, etc.) and their duty of care relating to these issues.
* Coordinate, participate in, and provide support for the Health and Safety Review, including preparing meeting agendas and compiling performance data.
* Support and coordinate senior leaders and line managers in health and safety matters in their operational policing areas. The role involves travelling and working across operational policing premises in the Gwent Police geographical boundaries.
