Job Description: Theatre Practitioner - Recovery Cromwell Hospital - London, SW5 0TU Permanent £35,964 to £45,480 per annum (dependant on experience) Shift pattern – Long Days 07:30 to 21:00 / Early 07:30 to 15:30 / Late 13:00 to 21:00. W eekend and on- calls (Saturdays and Sundays) Full time 37.5 hours p/w. Join us and receive a one-off Golden Hello of £3000, or £5000 towards Domestic Relocation Costs (if applicable). We have 6 operating suites catering for Cardiac, Orthopaedics, ENT and Ophthalmic, Plastics, General/Vascular, Urology and Gynaecology. We work with surgeons who are the best in their specialities carrying out simple to the more complex surgeries. You’ll help us make health happen by: The Recovery Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team and to participate in the assessment of adult and paediatric patient care needs and implement and maintain agreed standards of care What you’ll do To participate as a post anaesthetic care unit(recovery) nurse, providing physical and psychological care to the immediate post-operative patients. Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures and asepsis. Participate in induction and orientation programmes for new staff to ensure a welcoming environment. Assist the team leaders in the Personal Development Plans of junior staff Prepare patients for clinical/ operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery. Provide immediate post-operative care. Provide initial emergency care as required Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the team leader ensuring patient, visitors and staff safety. Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported to the nurse in charge of the recovery. Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives. Adhere to the procedures for the use of supplies, ordering requirements for the Department as directed by line manager. Ensure the accurate collection of data in relation to theatre activity. What you’ll bring: NMC Registered Nurse (Adult and/or Children). Alternatively, HCPC registered with a Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
