Role Overview
Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will play a key role in ensuring essential equipment is restored to optimal performance, helping clients minimise downtime, improve reliability, and extend the lifespan of high‑value machinery. The position offers hands‑on involvement in technically challenging projects across a range of industries and provides excellent opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Onsite and in‑house maintenance to rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and mixers, including fault finding, reporting, condition assessment, and engineering recommendations/full repair work scope.
* Onsite and in‑house maintenance and testing of valves (isolation, pressure, safety and thermal), pipework, hoses and ancillary equipment.
* Competent in the use of measuring equipment such as micrometers, DTI’s, and laser alignment tools.
* Communicate on a technical level both verbally and written to peers and customers.
* Work alone to identify and resolve faults and concerns on mechanical systems without receiving explicit direction.
* When required, assist and lead planned projects and outages as directed by peers.
* Effectively manage work schedule.
About you
* Mechanical time‑served to ONC & HNC, NVQ 3, or equivalent qualifications.
* A full driving licence, preferably clean.
* Self‑motivated, capable of working in a team and individually.
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Fault finding, repair, installation and commissioning experience.
* Good customer service skills.
* Have a flexible and positive approach to work.
* Prior oil & gas knowledge is beneficial or equivalent engineering experience in power or heavy industry.
Pay and Benefits
* A competitive salary of £52,000 to £62,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
* 25 days annual holidays + statutory/ bank holidays.
* 40‑hour week during normal office hours Monday – Friday (08:00 – 16:00).
