Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 2 off, 3 Nights on, 2 off, 3 Days on, 2 off, 4 Nights on, 8 off (shifts are Days 07:00-19:00 & Nights 19:00-07:00). This works out to an average of 42 hours per week.
Job Overview
Mitie is recruiting an Energy Centre Plant Maintenance Engineer to join the Projects team in London. Reporting to the Energy Centre Engineering Supervisor and the Technical Manager, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance on the systems of our client's energy centre in North West London.
As part of the Engineering Team, you will support daily engineering issues on a specific asset, providing support and guidance. You will be responsible for engineering support during outage events, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Engineer will collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Inspection, QHSE, Performance, and Maintenance teams to support the asset plan, ensuring compliance, governance, and best practices are maintained.
Main Duties
* Promote a safety-first culture, adhering to HSE and QHSE policies, procedures, and objectives.
* Develop expertise in mechanical integrity related to the asset, including pipework, rotating machines, valves, conveyers, boilers, and relief streams.
* Ensure all Quality Management and Compliance documentation for planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs is accurate and complete.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be well-presented, organized, polite, and customer-focused, with excellent communication skills. You must be willing to participate in callout/standby rota, hold a full UK driving license, and have a flexible approach to work. Knowledge of PSSR legislation is essential. Experience in plant maintenance, mechanical and electrical systems, and working in energy centres or similar environments is required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Recognized apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing/HVAC, with electrical qualifications.
* Experience with energy centres, marine plant maintenance, or similar.
* Electrical qualification to latest BS 7671 edition for safe work on electrical systems.
* Hot water systems or unvented hot water certification is a plus.
