Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist to join Op Courage. Op Courage is a NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veteran's and their families. This is a region wide post covering the East Midlands; Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire. Anyone can be affected by mental ill health, but armed forces veteran's may have seen and experienced things that few others - thankfully - will. That can create a special set of challenges which working with military charities helps to overcome and that it what is at the heart of Op Courage - ensuring that the NHS is a National Hero Service. Over the last 5 years the National Health Service has expanded mental health services as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. The role of the team is to support veteran's with their mental wellbeing as well as to navigate the NHS so that the individual can access the service that will best meet their needs. We do this via a military sensitive and holistic assessment. Due to the UKVI immigration changes we are no longer able to offer sponsorship for this role. Please provide details of the visa type and expiry date in your application. Failure to provide the required information will result in your application being rejected. Main duties of the job Practitioners in the team will develop care plans based on this assessment and will liaise with other organisations and military charities in the development and implementation of the care plan. Hybrid working is welcome, however successful applicants will be expected to attend Lincoln regularly. You will be responsible for assessment and co-ordination of the care of the Veteran and ensuring that they are able to access appropriate treatment from the Mental Health Trust local to them, according to their needs. You will engage, assess and coordinate the more complex cases that are referred to the service. Provide information to the Hub Lead in order that they may assess and challenge the service delivery on behalf of the veterans. This is where services are not being agreed according to the veteran's mental health agenda across the Midlands and East region.
