We have an excellent opportunity for a senior mental health pharmacist to join our Home Treatment Teams based in Stockport and Oldham. You will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering the clinical pharmacy service within your borough and providing Trust-wide HTT leadership.
This role involves no dispensary or out-of-hours commitments, offering a perfect opportunity to develop your clinical skills and broaden your mental health knowledge and experience.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing, managing, organizing, and developing the clinical pharmacy service to the HTTs across your borough, and leading developments to the clinical pharmacy service Trust-wide.
2. Leading, delivering, developing, and evaluating specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services in the Home Treatment Teams.
3. Providing expert pharmaceutical advice and liaison to the Home Treatment Team, GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
4. Acting as an independent prescriber of medication where appropriate, ensuring drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and suitable for the individual patient.
5. Providing training to the Home Treatment Team, GPs, and other HCPs within Primary Care on the use of psychotropic medicines.
6. Ensuring pharmacy services operate within agreed guidelines to facilitate effective medicines management.
7. Providing cover for other pharmacists serving Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, as requested.
You will work within a multidisciplinary Home Treatment Team in Stockport and Oldham and act as the clinical pharmacy service lead for HTTs across the Trust. You will be supported by a dedicated clinical pharmacy team committed to delivering excellent services across community, assessment, specialist, and inpatient services.
You will receive clinical and management supervision and have opportunities for professional development through education, training, team meetings, Quality Improvement, and audit. Support for further qualifications will also be provided. The role is entirely clinical, with no dispensary, out-of-hours, or on-call commitments.
