The Wellbeing & Engagement Officer’s role is to support students face-to-face and online.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering services and processes that provide an excellent student experience. This requires excellent people skills and good administrative ability. The post holder will provide first-level support and referrals to specialist services as needed, and establish a programme of activities to help students develop skills and confidence outside the classroom.
ABOUT THE ROLE Ensure effective case management of all welfare concerns and LDHD students, creating and maintaining accurate records in the student information management system in line with GDPR requirements.
Ensure the safeguarding of students in line with Study Group policy and procedure, acting as a point of contact for staff concerns about student safety or wellbeing.
Provide 1:1 welfare and pastoral support to students, referring them for additional support from external services where required.
Support the creation of Support Plans for students and monitor their engagement and effectiveness.
Follow processes to support students under 18, ensuring their safety and assisting with daily whereabouts monitoring.
Work closely with colleagues to identify and support students with additional needs due to health/SEND.
Promote student health registration on the NHS system and assist students with healthcare access.
Assist in planning and implementing an annual schedule of welfare events and promotional activities, including delivery in tutor sessions and liaising with external agencies.
Assist students with completing Mitigating Circumstances Forms and attend related meetings.
Support membership of the Student Staff Liaison Committee and attend meetings.
Make check-in calls with students on support or safety plans as appropriate, including out-of-hours support when necessary.
Ensure the smooth operation of reception and other student-facing environments, handling queries via various channels.
Organise and manage registration, arrivals, induction, enrichment activities, and events, providing support to team members.
Ensure timely and professional communication with external stakeholders, including parents, sponsors, and partner universities.
Maintain effective relationships with key university departments and external partners.
Engage with Study Group marketing and agent visits, contributing to marketing materials.
Provide resources and support for other teams as needed.
Offer general administrative support and cover duties during staff absences or peak periods.
Perform any other duties reasonably required by the Senior Leadership Team.
ABOUT YOU Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating independence in work and thinking.
Safeguarding training or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting students in an educational setting.
Experience organizing trips and visits, including risk assessments.
Experience creating engaging content and delivering workshops.
Experience working collaboratively with external partners.
Experience facilitating the ‘student voice’ and using feedback mechanisms.
Experience working in a regulated environment and in customer service.
