Lecturer – Animation
Responsible for delivering inclusive, high‑quality lessons in animation across the Digital Arts Department, supporting learners through tutorials, pastoral care, and workshops, and contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver inclusive, high‑quality lessons.
* Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
* Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
* Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
* Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
* Keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.
* Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
* Work with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
* Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
* Facilitate workshops with software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
* Manage a large volume of learners, balancing analogue and digital instruction.
Qualifications
* Relevant subject qualification – degree or equivalent in animation or related field.
* Recognised teaching qualification.
* Level 2 English and Maths (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
* Experience teaching in further or higher education.
* Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices.
* Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
* Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality and ongoing professional development.
* Understanding of the creative industries and industry requirements.
* Experience using Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
