Operations Team Leader - Oswestry at Arla Foods
Location: Arla Foods Oswestry, SY10 8NL. Shift-based role, 3 on 3 off (days and nights). The position will manage between 10 and 20 direct reports.

How you will make an impact
This is an exciting opportunity reporting to the Core Team Leader. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing performance, safety, quality and cost savings. You will deliver operational plans and set day-to-day team objectives including delivery of the site business plan and resolving day-to-day issues/escalations.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment by applying 5S, GMP standards, and compliance with Arla’s Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards through internal audits.
* Support team development and performance by training, coaching, hands-on support, and resource organisation; manage direct reports including investigations and performance management.
* Optimise production processes to ensure a cost-efficient and stable operation; work with the M&E team leader to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Drive departmental performance by implementing the department Business Plan, conducting walking tours and process confirmations, enabling DDS meetings, and challenging processes to identify improvements.
* Ensure alignment and compliance by working with the M&E team leader to maintain performance, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance through internal audits and process confirmations.
* Responsible for managing any emergency issues on site.
What you will need to succeed
We are seeking a Shift Leader with excellent people skills, high enthusiasm and a positive attitude for implementing change and solving problems. The ideal candidate will have:
* Basic understanding of food manufacturing/FMCG
* Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of Lean Principles (Six Sigma qualification) would be preferred
* Previous experience within an FMCG or dairy industry would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be provided
