Overview
Personal Assistant to support a client with autism and ADHD in daily living tasks, social engagement, and overall well‑being. The role requires patience, reliability, and a calm, supportive approach.
Responsibilities
* Encourage and accompany the client in community activities to improve confidence and social skills.
* Provide assistance with daily living skills, including maintaining a routine, tidying personal space, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Engage in activities such as gaming, music, or other interests that foster emotional support and independence.
* Offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the client's needs and promote consistent support.
* Monitor and respond to any challenging behaviours with empathy and constructive strategies.
* Work collaboratively with the client to develop long‑term independence.
Qualifications
* Patient, reliable, and understanding nature.
* Ability to work calmly with a client who experiences anxiety, low mood, and occasional behavioural challenges.
* Comfortable around dogs and cats, with willingness to share or engage in the client’s interests such as gaming or music.
* Strong interpersonal skills and desire to build a supportive working relationship.
* Experience or interest in supporting individuals with autism or other neurodiversity conditions is a plus.
Benefits
Pay rate of £12.71 per hour (Mon–Sat). Enhanced rates available for Sunday work. Flexible work hours with a base of 13 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
