This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enhancing accessibility and inclusion for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role will be based across all our college sites. The Opportunity As the Assistive Technology and Accessibility Lead, you will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to identify innovative assistive technologies and implement practical adjustments that enable students to access learning effectively. You will support the adaptation of teaching materials and assessments, develop accessible resources, and guide students in using assistive tools to build confidence and independence. Through evaluating and managing assistive technology solutions, you will help remove barriers to learning and ensure students are supported to fully participate in their education and achieve their academic potential. About You You will have a strong understanding of Additional Learning Support (ALS) and SEND, with experience supporting students with additional learning needs and promoting inclusive learning practices. You will be confident analysing complex situations, identifying effective solutions, and implementing improvements that enhance the student experience. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, you will be able to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and use data to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. With strong digital skills, including experience using Microsoft 365, accessibility tools, and educational software, you will be comfortable evaluating new technologies and communicating technical information clearly to both staff and students. You will also be confident handling challenging conversations professionally, promoting high standards in delivery, and working within organisational policies and relevant legislation such as the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act 2010.
