The role involves a balance of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Skills and Experience Proven multi-skilled engineering background with strong mechanical and electrical expertise. Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly desirable. Sound knowledge of PLC fault-finding, pneumatics, and automated systems. Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach. Relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in electrical engineering. Key Responsibilities Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping at all times. Adhere to site HSE procedures, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work. Carry out corrective maintenance in response to equipment breakdowns. Complete planned preventative maintenance across a variety of highly automated machinery, including conveyors, elevators, bagging machines, palletisers, roasting drums, and germination vessels. Undertake electrical installation work as required. Fault-find and diagnose issues on PLC-controlled systems. Test and commission machinery following repairs or modifications. Support small projects and equipment modifications. Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Work closely with production teams to resolve engineering and operational issues promptly.
