School Finance Assistant
Start: March 2026
Contract: Full-time and temporary (possibility to go permanent)
Salary: £140.00 - £180.00 per day depending on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities
* Provide effective support for financial and administrative functions within a secondary school
* Ensure financial records and processes are accurate, well-maintained, and compliant with internal requirements
* Assist with budget tracking and expenditure monitoring to support informed decision-making
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of sound financial procedures and controls
* Work closely with colleagues across different teams to support operational priorities
* Prepare and share clear, reliable financial information as required
* Manage workloads efficiently, demonstrating strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and ways of working
* Act professionally at all times, supporting safeguarding, equality, and organisational values
Requirements
* Experience of working in a finance, accounts, or administrative role (or a strong willingness to develop in this area)
* Good numeracy skills with the ability to maintain accurate financial records
* High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Confident user of IT systems, including spreadsheets and finance or data management software
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Professional, reliable, and accountable approach to work
* Willingness to follow policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality requirements
* Commitment to continuous improvement and developing professional skills
