The role and its responsibilities
This is a new role for Seismic, reporting to and working closely with the COO. It comes at a key point in Seismic’s growth, aiming to support the impact and wellbeing of our most important asset, our People.
The exact role definition will be dependent on the desire, capability and experiences of the right person. Key responsibilities are likely to include:
* Being the go-to person for all employee-related issues, a trusted advisor for everyone across the company
* Working with the CEO, COO and Leadership Team to drive impact of culture and vision statement
* Developing and implementing People / HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business strategy, culture and values
* Leading Seismic’s DEI strategy implementation, working alongside the DEI working group
* Performance and talent management - helping develop frameworks and leading implementation
* Learning & Development - implementing a sector-leading L&D programme
* Promoting and driving the company vision, mission, values and high performance habits
* Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Executive to manage the recruitment and selection process
* Developing and monitoring overall People / HR strategies, systems, and processes across the company
* Nurturing a supportive and positive working environment
* Overseeing and managing the performance and pay review system to support high performance
* Providing reports and metrics to the Leadership Team
* Manage the engagement and DEI surveys and analysis and the company’s response to them
* Ensuring legal compliance throughout human resource management
About you
You believe that humanity and businesses need to make a seismic shift in the right direction and want to apply your People / HR expertise to help make that happen. At the same time you want to work in a friendly, collaborative and empathetic team who are delivering impactful projects for high-profile clients.
To be successful in this role you would need the following attributes:
* You have proven experience as a People / HR Manager or other HR Executive
* You have in-depth knowledge of UK employment laws and HR best practices
* You have gained a Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources or related field and/or CIPD level 5 (Associate) or above
* You have a love of building relationships across all levels of the company
* You have a strong working knowledge of HR systems and databases, and appreciate how they can facilitate the role
* You are an excellent active listener with strong negotiation and presentation skills
* Your written and in-person communication style is clear and concise
* You are passionate about sustainability and want to work in a company with a clear purpose and vision
* You are energised by the pace of a mission driven, scale-up culture
* You are resilient and comfortable giving and receiving feedback
* You love coaching and developing others
* You are details oriented but not at the expense of making pragmatic decisions
* You act with empathy in a ‘human first’ way

* Previous working knowledge of CharlieHR is a bonus
Importantly, you love People / HR work and working with Ops teammates to constantly improve the working environment for the wider team. You are a team player - you like a laugh, but are not afraid to graft. You have plenty to offer, and know you have even more to learn.
You are action oriented, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities and enjoy just the right amount of time pressure to help keep productive and focused. You are a ‘people person’ with a knack for building relationships with a diverse group of people.

Location
You will be within commuting distance of our London office, attending the office (Spitalfields) at least twice per week.
Working hours
We believe in flexible working hours to better suit our personal lives while being considerate of each other and our clients. We generally work office hours but trust each other to make fair decisions.
