Role Overview
As Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of all building systems and facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of four engineers and assistants, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across our luxury property.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations.
Lead and motivate a team of maintenance engineers and assistants.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and statutory requirements.
Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive repairs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting.
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.
Uphold the highest standards of service and presentation in all areas.
What We’re Looking For
Proven supervisory experience in a luxury residential or 5-star hospitality environment.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, BMS, plumbing).
Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to lead by example and inspire a team.
A proactive, solution-focused approach with attention to detail.
