The Opportunity
Our HV Power Systems team provides consultancy services in power system studies and grid connection studies for HVAC and HVDC networks, including load flow, fault level, dynamic G99/Grid Code compliance, power quality assessments, and electromagnetic transient studies. We deliver comprehensive, innovative solutions to our clients.
The team has a strong pipeline and plans to grow. We seek highly capable, motivated power system engineers with attention to detail to guide and inspire the team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand client needs and provide innovative, pragmatic, and cost-effective solutions.
Is this role right for you?
We seek candidates with PhD, MSc, MEng, or BEng degrees in Electrical Engineering or similar. Ideally, you are a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with the IET. Your role will involve bids, business development, and project work.
Skills and experience include:
* Power system consultancy for utilities and renewable developers
* Knowledge of UK and international grid connection processes
* Client and project management in technical tasks
* Proficiency with power system analysis software (PowerFactory, PSS/E, IPSA, etc.)
* Ability to perform dynamic grid connection studies per G99 and international codes
* Experience with power quality assessment studies
* Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable qualifications include postgraduate degrees, HVDC system design, programming skills, and travel willingness.
