Overview
Receptionist/Administrator to provide clerical support to the services located in the Widnes Health Care Resource Centre. The centre is open 365 days a year and staff work on a rota to cover shifts from 7.45am to 9.15pm. The role requires hard work, flexibility, effective organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Main responsibilities
* Work on the main reception desk, welcome patients arriving for appointments, and manage bookings for all departments within the Widnes HCRC building.
* Arrange patient bookings on the system, amend appointments, and book follow-up appointments for services (including UTC, Podiatry, Treatment rooms) as well as signpost to external services running clinics in the building.
* Answer emails, handle daily tasks and queries, liaise with patients and clinicians face-to-face and by telephone.
* Provide general duties of a busy reception and support a fast-paced environment; undertake training for the fire warden role as required.
* Assist with administrative duties and ensure appropriate display of information and stock levels at reception.
Qualifications, experience and skills
* 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications; ECDL or equivalent experience; RSA Level III typing or equivalent.
* Proven clerical experience or demonstrable administrative knowledge; experience in a customer/administration-focused environment (minimum 12 months).
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent is desirable; willingness to undertake further development to NVQ Level 3 standard.
* Experience of using Microsoft Word and other MS Office packages; good organisational and diary management skills; excellent telephone manner and customer service.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and use judgement in handling patient enquiries.
