Overview
Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership offers Specialist Pharmacist Primary Care roles (Band 7) within the Marr cluster. Full Time or Part Time opportunities (minimum 3 days) are available, Monday to Friday. The post holders will join a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide pharmacotherapy services and promote quality, cost‑effective prescribing of medicines.
The post holders will support GP practices and community hospitals, covering all aspects of medicines management in line with local and national guidelines. Independent Prescriber training would be supported if not already achieved. The role may involve onsite work in GP practices and/or remote working from an agreed base. Bases and area of work will be discussed at interview. Consideration will be given to work within Aberdeenshire HSCP locations (e.g., Inverurie, Ellon or alternate locations as available). A full driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities
* Join and work within Pharmacotherapy teams across Aberdeenshire to support pharmacotherapy services.
* Promote quality, cost‑effective prescribing of medicines.
* Support GP practices and community hospitals with medicines management in line with guidelines.
* Engage in medicines management and audit activities; contribute to local improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver services across a wide area.
* Work flexibly across bases and locations as discussed at interview.
* Opportunity to undertake Independent Prescriber training if not already achieved.
Qualifications and Skills
* Registered pharmacist with suitable background (community or hospital) and good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
* Experience of working within Primary Care, medicines management and audit would be advantageous.
* Full driving licence (essential).
