Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester GL4 0UN
Salary: Up to 27,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am 4:30pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people in reaching their potential? Were looking for a proactive Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Brookthorpe Hall School a nurturing, specialist environment where pupils with complex needs are supported to thrive both academically and personally.
As a Cover Supervisor, youll play a vital role in keeping learning consistent and engaging when teachers are unavailable. Youll deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a calm and positive classroom atmosphere, and encourage pupils to stay focused and motivated throughout the day.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, youll build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel safe, valued, and ready to learn even on the days when routines change.
the next, youre supporting small groups outdoors or helping prepare engaging classroom materials. Deliver lessons and supervise classes in the absence of teachers, keeping pupils engaged and on task
Provide guidance to students who need extra help or reassurance during cover sessions
Occasionally support the Teaching Assistant team or assist with wider school activities
Promote positive behaviour and uphold the schools values at all times
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, supporting students with complex or additional needs
A flexible, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills
A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their best in a safe and supportive environment
