WESTERN ISLES DENTAL CENTRE
DENTAL RECEPTIONIST
Band 2 £25,694 to £27,900 per annum
Distant Islands Allowance £1,406 per annum
37 hours per week

Join our dedicated team at the Western Isles Dental Centre as a member of the Public Dental Service and play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, youll provide a professional and welcoming reception service, manage appointment bookings, and support the smooth running of our clinics.
What youll do:
1. Schedule and manage patient appointments using the EXACT system
2. Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries with professionalism and empathy
3. Process payments and maintain accurate patient records
4. Support urgent dental triage and coordinate with clinical teams
5. Ensure compliance with NHS confidentiality, data protection, and health & safety standards
What were looking for:
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Competent with IT systems and keyboard use
8. Be professional, courteous and patient focussed
9. Have a calm and professional manner, being able to manage challenging situation
10. Well organised with time management skills
11. Previous reception or administrative experience, particularly in a health care setting, is desirable
