About Flash Pack

When was the last time you made a new friend? Friendship profoundly improves our emotional wellbeing, sense of belonging, purpose and happiness. Everyone wants more human connection but making new friends is really hard. That’s why we exist, with a mission to create one million meaningful friendships across the globe, using the power of travel and technology as a platform for connection.

We are Flash Pack - curated social adventures for solo travellers. We’re a marketplace, so we actually serve two types of customers: solo travellers and the local partners who bring our adventures to life. Our business is growing year-on-year and backed by strong investor support. Our culture is down-to-earth, hard-working, and compassionate. We’re lucky to have an exceptional team in terms of talent, and our “no a-holes” policy ensures we’re humble and supportive of each other. Integrity is at the heart of our work - we’re driven to do what’s right and to build a company that makes us genuinely proud.

What You’ll Find Here

* A culture built around high performance, high conviction and humility. We value teamwork over grandiosity, great questions over corporate euphemisms and autonomy over conformity
* An ambitious high growth mid stage start-up with proven product market fit in over 15 global markets. We’re well-capitalised and backed by founders, investors and entrepreneurs who have built multi-billion dollar companies
* A highly collaborative team of ambitious and innovative people on a mission to create one million meaningful friendships across the globe, using the power of travel and technology as a platform for connection

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Product Manager to join our team. You’ll be responsible for enabling high performance of our trips by leveraging external market insights and internal insights by working cross-functionally to identify risks and opportunities, validate hypotheses and deliver performance-boosting initiatives across a portfolio of trips. This is not a technical product manager role.

In line with our salary framework, the salary banding for this role is £65,000 - £71,000 (dependent on experience).

Where You Will Spend Your Time

* Pro-actively tracking and analysing key performance metrics such as bookings, trip-fill and margin across your assigned trips identifying and prioritising performance optimisation opportunities
* Collaborating closely with internal teams such as Pricing, Growth and Demand, DMC (Destination Management Companies) to validate hypotheses and implement solutions to reduce risk and optimise performance
* Conducting root cause analysis to understand under-performing trips using a combination of internal data as well as external market and competitor insights
* Using historical data and other available information to forecast the required supply for trips on an ongoing basis
* Working closely with teams such as Growth and Demand and the DMC team to refine forecasts to support the securing of supply from our DMCs
* Identifying and reporting on the relevant trends to support and input into our longer term product strategy and new product development
* Maintaining transparent and consistent communication with your stakeholders to drive successful outcomes

Owned Metrics

* Trip Fill Rate (%)
* Trip Sell-Through Rate (%)
* Departure Cancellation Rate (%)

Collaborative Metrics

* Trip Bookings – Shared with Growth/Demand
* Trip Margins – Shared with Commercial Supply, Growth/Demand, and Pricing

What We’d Love To See From You

* You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in working with a portfolio of products, overseeing their performance across a range of KPIs
* You’re highly proficient in data analysis and can use analytical tools to support commercial decision making and performance improvement (we currently use Looker Studio; knowledge of SQL is a bonus)
* You’re a strong critical thinker and have the ability to analyse, investigate, question assumptions and problem solve to make informed decisions
* You excel at stakeholder management and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure you can make well-rounded decision making. You’re able to influence and get buy in from a range of different stakeholders (up to C-Suite) knowing how to flex your approach where needed
* Results driven - Proven ability to take ownership and drive results, completing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* You’re comfortable operating both strategically and operationally and are happy to flex between this
* You’re a pro at project management and can confidently oversee multiple projects, showcasing data led prioritisation and delivering on time within budget
* Continuous improvement is your thing — you stay updated with the latest market, competitor and customer trends and adapt to changing tools and conditions

We’re after the right person and if you don’t quite hit all the criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’d love to chat and see if you could be a great fit for Flash Pack.

Logistics

Our interviews take place on Google Meet and usually consist of the following stages:

* An interview with the hiring manager to hear more about your background and experience and to give you a deep dive into the role (60 mins)
* A case study and presentation with the hiring manager and key stakeholders to see how you’d solve a problem (60-90 mins)
* Meet with one of our founders for any final questions you or we have (30 - 45 mins)

Some roles may have extra stages, but we will let you know as soon as possible in the process if this is the case.

Diversity and Inclusion

We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and hiring top talent regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or disability. If you have accessibility or other requirements, we will adapt to meet your needs. If you would like to talk to us about these efforts, we would love to hear from you.
