Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a EC&I Design Engineer for a permanent position in St Helens (hybrid). This role is within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.
Role
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at the control panel manufacturing facility in Haydock, with hybrid working options. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical control panels and related systems.
Main Responsibilities
You will manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, support construction during manufacturing, and handle change control. Understanding customer requirements and translating them into engineering solutions is essential. You will also manage client expectations, carry out engineering estimates, and control project costs related to progress, scope changes, and man-hours.
Experience & Qualifications
* BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience
* 5-10 years of professional engineering design or technical specialist experience
* Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH
* Knowledge of electrical engineering, including design, testing, and evaluation
* Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria
Advantageous Knowledge: Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, motor control centres, variable drive systems.
