BIM / CAD Designer Location: Aberdeen Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Contract IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Overview We are currently seeking an experienced BIM / CAD Designer to join a leading engineering team supporting major pipeline projects. This is an exciting contract opportunity based in Aberdeen for a candidate with strong Aveva E3D experience and a background in civil and structural design deliverables. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will be responsible for producing and developing high-quality CAD and BIM deliverables across all project phases, from concept through to detailed design. Key Responsibilities Lead the production and development of civil and structural CAD design deliverables. Prepare 2D and 3D design solutions for concept, FEED and detailed design stages. Produce 3D models, technical drawings, layouts and sketches for temporary and permanent works. Use Aveva E3D for 3D BIM modelling and 2D drawing extraction ( essential ). Use Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for civils design elements where required. Work effectively within a Common Data Environment (CDE). Ensure draughting and design activities are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards. Ensure all work complies with relevant industry codes, standards and company procedures. Maintain awareness of current industry standards and best practice. Coordinate with engineers, designers and other disciplines to ensure interfaces are clearly defined. Liaise with project teams, vendors, clients and stakeholders as required. Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a BIM / CAD Designer within civil, structural or pipeline projects. Strong working knowledge of Aveva E3D is essential. Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Competent in design and detailing of: Foundations Below-ground infrastructure Drainage systems Cable ducting Steelwork Concrete structures Reinforced concrete detailing experience advantageous. Experience of 4D simulation, construction sequencing and clash detection software beneficial. Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively. Able to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a wider team. Qualifications City & Guilds, HNC or HND qualified in a relevant discipline. EngTech or IEng ICE status advantageous.
