The Role:
We're looking for a highly detail-focused Inspector / Machinist to support inspection and CNC machining processes, ensuring all products meet strict medical and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections
* Complete DIR reports and OGP scanning
* Use precision measuring equipment (callipers, verniers, micrometers)
* Record results accurately in Excel and internal systems
* Reject and quarantine non-conforming product
* Set, load, and operate CNC machines
* Verify parts against engineering drawings and tolerances
* Complete route cards, inspection sheets, and traceability documentation
* Escalate quality or machine issues promptly
* Support Lean, 5S, and EHS initiatives
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience in CNC machining and/or inspection
* Strong ability to use measurement tools (verniers, callipers, micrometres)
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T
* Experience working to tight tolerances
* Good working knowledge of quality control processes
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and basic IT systems
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience within medical device, aerospace, or other regulated industries
* Familiarity with OGP / CMM inspection equipment
* Knowledge of ISO 13485 or similar quality standards
* Previous experience with traceability and batch control
* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
* Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
