Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Recruitment
Are you interested in applying to become a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)?
Police Community Support Officers are at the heart of our communities, performing a vital role linking the local community and police service to ensure everyone has the support they need.
We are seeking applications from individuals across all community areas and encourage applications from diverse minority groups.
Current vacancies are within Cardiff, Vale, and Mid Glamorgan sectors. Please see the attached map for areas. We prioritize applications from these areas as needed.
Application Criteria
You will need to upload evidence of your Level 2 English and Maths certificates when submitting your application. Equivalent qualifications will be considered. If you do not possess a valid certificate, you must obtain one before applying or sit the online verbal reasoning and calculation test.
Application Process
* The application window opens at 9:00 AM on 28th April 2025 and closes at 12:00 noon on 13th May 2025.
* You will be invited to complete the national sift test as part of the process. This must be completed within 7 days of invitation or by the application deadline, whichever is sooner.
* The online tests are not compatible with handheld devices; they must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer.
* It is advisable to use the same device for registration and testing to avoid compatibility issues.
* If you encounter technical issues during testing, South Wales Police may reset the test once at their discretion.
* Ensure you complete and submit your application and certificates before the deadline. Late applications will not be considered.
* Applicants requiring reasonable adjustments for online tests or interviews should email the HR Recruitment mailbox.
After completing the online tests, you will be notified of your results. If you pass, you will be invited to select an interview date and time.
Please note: Failing the national sift online test makes you ineligible to resit it within 3 months for any other uniformed recruitment.
South Wales Police may close campaigns early if sufficient applications are received. Only fully completed applications will be considered at that time. The dates for tests or intakes may change, and candidate numbers for interviews may be restricted based on organizational needs.
