A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical IT support role, ideally within an educational or similar environment. Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, etc.). Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Clear and confident communication skills, with a user-friendly approach to support. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A, Network, Microsoft, ITIL) are desirable. Responsibilities: As a Level 2 IT Technician, your key responsibilities will include: Providing on-site and remote technical support to staff and students, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues. Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, and interactive displays. Supporting the deployment and updating of software across school devices and systems. Performing routine maintenance of servers, networks, and backup systems to ensure consistent availability and performance. Monitoring IT systems for faults or performance issues, proactively resolving problems to minimize downtime. Assisting with the setup and maintenance of user accounts, permissions, and security settings in line with school policies. Ensuring compliance with data protection and security protocols, reporting any issues or breaches appropriately. Documenting all IT procedures, issues, and resolutions clearly for use by the wider team. Collaborating with the AIT HQ team to support the implementation of technology initiatives at the local level. Staying informed of emerging technologies and best practices relevant to education IT environments.
