HR Business Partner, Insurance, London City (3 days a week in the office/ 2 WFH)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

£65-70k + Allowances (£6400), 30 Days Annual Leave, Discretionary Bonus, Private Healthcare (Family Included), Generous Pension (10-15%)


About the Company

A long-established insurance organisation with established over 100 years ago. Specialising in third-party liability insurance, including additional cover loss prevention. The company operates globally, with offices in London, Luxembourg, New York, Greece, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai. The London office is the largest, while most overseas offices are small, but growing offices.
The company values long-term development-many employees have decades of service, and internal progression is common. The culture is caring, collaborative, and commercially aware, with a strong focus on succession planning and performance.


The Role

This role will be the only HR Business Partner within the organisation structure (200HC), reporting into the Head of HR, with 1 direct report. You'll be working closely with the C-Suite & Business Leaders, as well as working collaboratively with the HR Operations Manager on projects, such as a new HRIS implementation. This role is looking for someone who has a lot of exposure with senior stakeholders, within Insurance, Financial Services or Professional Services firm. You'll be joining a team that is redefining itself, with newly clarified roles and a renewed focus on global consistency and transparency. You'll be expected to lead on end-to-end HR Business Partnering which includes both complex and non-complex Employee Relations Queries, Succession Planning & Training and Development.

The role requires someone who is proactive, strategic, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment. The team is collaborative but currently under-resourced, and this role is key to helping drive change and modernise practices. There is a strong desire to challenge legacy behaviours and build a more globally integrated HR function.

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience of operating as a HR Business Partner, including involvement in company-wide projects.
* You'll have recent experience of working in a company between 200-1,000 headcount, preferably in Insurance or Financial Services. Someone with career experience in non-regulated environments will not be selected for interview.
* Strong background in employee relations, succession planning, and training & development
* Ability to work across cultures and geographies
* Comfortable with ambiguity and change
* Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
* Willingness to travel to international offices on an ah-hoc basis (UK, NYC, Luxembourg, Greece, Hong Kong)
