Job Description
This role is based in our Colchester office and will require you to work in the office 3 days a week/2 days from home.
Key Responsibilities
The Accountant is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:
* Prepare, reconcile, and analyze the monthly management reports; Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet. Details include reconciliations, accruals, allocations, revenue downloads, pre-payments, variance analysis, and commentary.
* Perform Balance sheet reconciliations.
* Financial Reporting and Analysis including budget/forecasting, working capital, Group Finance reporting, supplementary packs, and ad-hoc requests.
* Publish financial results in SAP FC.
* Ensure effective communication between the SSC, Group finance, and Business Teams.
* Be involved with acquisition integration and due diligence.
* Work on projects within the SSC and department, including key process testing and systems improvements.
* Assist in the accounting integration of new products into the SSC accounting structure and systems.
* Analyze and resolve ad-hoc problems using business and systems knowledge.
* Perform WIP analysis, product costing, provisions (e.g., stock).
* Process intercompany transactions.
* Review bad debt, accruals, and prepayment calculations.
* Handle treasury postings and reconciliations.
* Manage tax and compliance duties as required by your SSC.
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Good understanding of SSC processes and their integration into the wider environment.
* Strong knowledge of R2R processes, including best practices in people, processes, and technology.
* Ability to manage own deadlines and priorities while supporting junior team members.
* Decisive, with the ability to make informed decisions promptly.
