Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School-Based) Location: Kettering and surrounding areas Job Type: Part-time / Flexible (School hours, term-time) Salary: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in home and school-based settings across Kettering and surrounding areas. The role involves delivering personalised, high-quality tuition to children and young people who require additional academic support during school hours. The focus is on helping learners re-engage with education, build confidence, and make progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths. Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 tuition in pupils’ homes or school environments Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs Support core subjects, mainly English and Maths Monitor and track pupil progress where required Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times Requirements Minimum 2 years teaching or tutoring experience (school-based, tuition, or equivalent educational setting) Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum Experience working with children or young people Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) Ability to travel locally within Kettering and surrounding areas Desirable Experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (not essential) Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition What We Offer Flexible daytime work during school hours (term-time only) Local placements across Kettering and nearby areas Ongoing pupil referrals and consistent opportunities Competitive hourly pay based on experience A rewarding role making a real difference to pupils’ education How to Apply Please send your CV and a short cover note outlining your experience, availability, and preferred key stages or age groups.
