Position Summary
We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer, to report into the Quality Manager, based out of our site in Whitstable, Kent. This role is based fully on site and the ideal candidate will live nearby or within an easily commutable distance.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for ensuring product quality requirements and the Quality Management System are maintained and improved.
* Supporting the NPD activities with Metrology, Documentation and Advanced Product Quality Planning tools.
* Supporting the Operations Team with the introduction of new product, equipment and processes.
* Supporting the Customer Services Team by leading investigations for customer complaints.
* Developing and maintaining control plans.
* Investigating and troubleshooting quality concerns using appropriate root cause analysis tools (8D, A3 Problem Solving).
* Performing complex measurement studies utilising Coordinate Measuring Machines and 3D scanners.
* Performing statistical analysis of data and interpreting results for decision making.
* Supporting Prototype, Sample and Controlled Product Change builds through Pre-Production and Production cells.
* Producing monthly quality reports and contributing to Management Reviews.
Experience
Essential
* Significant experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing company operating within ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
* Experience of deploying lean principles and techniques.
* Advanced metrology skills and current working knowledge of utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines to measure complex geometries.
* Experienced in FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, 8D and PPAPs.
* Qualified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001).
Desirable
* Automotive / Aerospace Quality experience would be an advantage.
* Six Sigma Black Belt.
* Experience using 3D scanning tools for dimensional analysis.
* Qualified Lead Auditor.
* Experience using eQMS software.
Qualifications
Essential
* HNC or Equivalent in Mechanical / Production Engineering. Inspection/Mechanical Apprenticeship.
Desirable
* A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical or Materials engineering preferred).
* CQI Membership.
