We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team in Burnfoot, Co. Donegal, Ireland.
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will support the manufacture of our next-generation products and drive initiatives to continually improve our existing systems and manufacturing processes, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation.
This role is ideal for a talented engineer with a background in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Production, or Manufacturing, particularly with mechanical or assembly engineering experience. You will be responsible for process development of existing products and supporting new product development through the effective application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
1. Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Utilize lean manufacturing tools and techniques for problem-solving.
3. Support Value Engineering exercises to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
4. Contribute to plant and process layout planning for new and existing products.
5. Maintain and develop fixtures and tooling for products and processes.
6. Create clear work instructions for new and existing products.
7. Justify and specify manufacturing equipment; recommend capital expenditures.
8. Foster a lean manufacturing culture using tools like SMED, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping.
9. Lead and contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will be an experienced HNC/D or degree-qualified Production or Manufacturing Engineer with a background in assembly, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering, and with experience in lean manufacturing tools such as FMEA, DFM, 5 Whys, and Value Stream Mapping. Strong interpersonal skills to complement your technical expertise are essential.
Some travel between sites will be required.
