Head Chef – Coastal Location (Off the Coast of England, Relocation Opportunity)
9.5-month contract (paid over 12 months)
Smyth & Co are thrilled to be recruiting for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a stunning coastal venue located just off the coast of England. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished Head Chef with a passion for seafood to take charge of a high-performing kitchen and craft an exceptional culinary experience in a vibrant, seasonal setting.
The Role:
* Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum (inclusive of guaranteed tronc, negotiable based on experience)
* Contract: 9.5 months of service (February to December), with full pay spread over 12 months
* Time Off: 2.5 months of paid leave over the Christmas period (no work required—just the occasional text)
* Accommodation: First 3 months provided to support relocation
Covers & Shift Patterns:
* March to June: Approx. 250 covers per day
* June to September: 500–600 covers daily, 7 days a week during peak season
* Shifts: 4–5 double shifts weekly during busy periods, with 2–3 days off
* Downtime: Extended paid leave over Christmas ensures a strong work-life balance
Your Responsibilities:
* Report directly to the Executive Chef
* Manage a brigade of 40–50, including 2–3 Sous Chefs and 10 Prep Chefs
* Lead seafood-focused menu development and daily kitchen operations
* Maintain exceptional standards in a high-volume, high-quality environment
Requirements:
* Demonstrated success as a Head Chef in fast-paced, high-volume settings
* Expertise in seafood cuisine is essential
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Willingness to relocate to a beautiful coastal location off the coast of England
