Overview

The Quality and Service Improvement Monitoring Officer post provides an exciting opportunity to work in an enthusiastic and committed Quality Assurance Team within the Safeguarding Service at Ceredigion County Council.

The Local Authority is developing a Through Age Well-Being Model of social care provision. Your role will be to work specifically with commissioned services for both children and adults, and their families to ensure that the care and support that people are receiving within commissioned provider services are of the highest quality and are both meeting the needs of children and adults and also maximizing their independence and quality of life.

Your role would be responsible for undertaking contract monitoring/quality assurance visits to all commissioned providers (both within the county and at any placements commissioned outside of Ceredigion) and in-house provision, on a regular basis, to ensure that the services are being provided in line with RISCA Regulations and in line with the Social Services and Well-Being Act 2014.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the provider is complying with their contractual arrangements and providing a service to the highest quality standard of care for both children and adults. Following each visit, you would be advising the providers of the areas of strengths that are evident in the service provision, and also advising the provider where there are areas of concern/risk which need addressing and you will be making recommendations about how the service could improve and you will be working alongside providers in supporting them to improve their service.

An essential part of your role would be to ensure that the voices of children, adults and their families who are using the services that you are monitoring are heard throughout the monitoring process and that their views help strengthen the quality of the services that they are receiving.

Ceredigion is committed to embedding the Signs of Safety and Well-being Practice Framework and we are investing in transforming our processes and in training our staff to safely identify and manage risk of harm and build people’s resilience to increase safety and well-being. You would be part of a strong, committed multi-agency local and Regional Partnership way of working that strives to achieve together the best quality outcomes for children, adults and their families.

Where possible, we are seeking individuals with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. However, a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skills will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within 2 years of appointment.

In exchange for your skills and commitment, we will offer you a range of employee benefits including the flexible hours scheme, competitive annual leave allowance and a generous pension contribution scheme. More information about our wide-range of employee benefits can be found here.

We believe work-life balance is very important. To support you in achieving this, you will have access to the following discretionary benefits:

* Hybrid Working: Subject to certain conditions being met, you may choose to work from home or in an office location.
* Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.

Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. As part of this commitment, certain roles within our organisation require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to assess the suitability of candidates. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. We assess each applicant on a case-by-case basis, and take into account the nature and relevance of any convictions in relation to the responsibilities of the role. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
